It’s a privacy solution that pretty much masks the actual phone numbers of one or both the parties communicating with each other, i.e., the caller and receiver. A pool of virtual numbers is used in rotation as the respective caller IDs. Basically, both parties see random numbers in place of actual numbers.
When a customer contacts a service provider, he gets in touch with them through a virtual number provided by voiceetc. An available agent is assigned from the service provider’s server, and s/he is allotted a caller ID taken from a pool of voiceetc-provided virtual numbers. Thus, both parties get to see the same number.
Yes. You may choose to show a different number from the one you are using, or someone calling you may decide to similarly disguise their number. There are two types of number masking: One-way and two-way. In the case of the former, the server initiates one call and the connected party gets to see a virtual number. In the case of the former, the server initiates two outbound calls at the same time and bridges them together.
